Configuring Eudora Light Email
- Install Eudora by double clicking the executable file and following the on-screen instructions.
- The first time you run the program, your screen should look something like the image below:
- Pop Account: This should be the login-name@mail.gna.net
Note: Your login-name was given to you when you setup your account, most likely it is a letter followed by 3 numbers (ex: a601 is a login-name, so you would put a601@mail.gna.net).
- Real Name: This is the name you want messages to appear to be from. This name appears along with your email address to help people figure out who you are. You could use your real name, or a handle if you wish.
- Return Address: This is the email address you want replies to messages you sent to come to. This can either be your login-name@gna.net or it could be an email alias that was setup for you with your account(clintonb@gna.net for example).
- Everything should be setup now. Eudora uses the settings you entered above to modify everything else it neeeds. However, you may want to make changes in the way mail is replied to or checked. Most of the options should be self-explanitory, so feel free to change them to suit you.
Here is an example of what will appear if you hit "host."
As you can see, the settings are already there.
