Internet Explorer Email 3.x Setup Step 2

  1. You should now see the Internet Mail Configuration screen below. Click Next to continue.
  2. You will now be asked to enter two pieces of information: Name: This is the name that will appear on all outgoing email. Many people simply use their first name, or a handle. Email Address: This is your email address. You customer service rep. should have given you an email alias when you signed up. This is usually your last name and first initial @gna.net. Or you can use your account login (usually an a followed by 3 numbers) @gna.net. Then click Next.
  3. You must now configure your email servers. Both of these should be: mail.gna.net Click Next to continue.
  4. You must now enter your account information to allow the program to check retrieve you email. Make sure the Login Using radio box is check, and enter the two pieces of information that follow:
    Account Name: This is your login name given to you when you first setup your account. Generally it is an a followed by 3 letters (ie: a200). This must be lowercase!!!
    Password: This is your password that was given to you to login to the service. Make sure caps lock is not on when you enter this, as it is case sensitive and should be all lowercase.
    Click Next to continue.
  5. You will now be asked to specify the connection type you wish to use when checking your email. We recommend that you select the I Connect Manually option as shown in the picture below. This means that you will need to connect to the Internet first before you can send or receive email. Click Next to continue.
  6. You email account is now setup! Click Finish to exit setup and launch your email program.
